ADaPT4Future: ADult People create Technologies for their
Future
3D printing is one of the most innovative technologies that is revolutionizing many areas of life. It is an integral part of the idea of ”learning by doing”. Thanks to the ability to create three-dimensional objects based on digital models, 3D printing opens up unlimited possibilities in the field of design, production and development.
Our project, carried out from 2021 to 2023 in Lithuania, Poland and Italy, is based on the partnership of 4 different organizations: a robotics school, a municipal library, a community center and a municipality.
We have created a methodology how to teach 3D printing to an adult learner group. Workshops based on this methodology involve a lot of creativity and teamwork. Also, they offer an opportunity for the participants to repair or improve a particular household or other item by designing and producing the required part with the 3D printing technology.
The methodology was validated with more than 200 adult learners, including participants with fewer possibilities due to economic, social, geographic and/or migrant background obstacles.
